Where we still had a beautiful green lawn in front of our door 12 years ago, the current Overhoeksplein and Badhuiskade are mostly grey. When decorating the public space, little space has been set aside for some greenery, even though there is plenty of space! That is why we started last year with the Municipality of Amsterdam and our neighbors, ClinkNOORD and the AHK, to green the neighborhood. Starting with our building itself! We are building a 150m long façade garden on all sunny sides of the building. Some will say it is the longest façade garden in the Netherlands...
To help the green stay green, we are looking for green-fingered members and neighbours. Do you like to focus on nature but don't have the space yourself? Is the lack of green also a pain in your side? Or do you just enjoy helping out? We are looking for you!
We are setting up a Gardencollective together with the neighborhood. Each member of the Gardencollective is allocated a piece of façade garden (maximum 15 m2) to treasure and maintain. We ensure that there are sufficient tools available and organize fun workshops or other garden outings a number of times a year to provide you with green inspiration. You can start working in your garden as of October/November 2024!
The Gardencollective is part of our commitment to do more together with the community and the neighborhood. Together, we will continue to build our network and increase our impact on the world around us. Our programming, our building and its sustainability play a major role in this. Together with the community, we want to grow even further in this area in the near future.
Would you like to help out? Then send us a message.
