In this edition, journalist Olga Verheijden interviewed A Lab member Ahmet Polat. With his photography and field work, Ahmet Polat wants to build bridges between different cultures, identities and histories. After living and working in Istanbul for ten years, he returned to the Netherlands in 2015 and was named Photographer of the Fatherland in the same year. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Rijksmuseum, Istanbul Modern, Stedelijk Amsterdam and BOZAR Brussels. With the Studio Polat Foundation, Ahmet wants to stimulate and support collaborations and mutual benefits between different disciplines and creative worlds.
