On Sunday 23 March you can join the Open House: Moving Media Lab Tour at A Lab. At the end of their two-year study, the makers will treat visitors to the results of four interdisciplinary research projects. Discover the groundbreaking work of the makers who bring movement, technology and art together.
Moving Media Lab explores the meaning and value of dance and movement in the autonomous arts, design practice and science, and how these different fields can be more closely linked. The main aim of the project is to innovate and deepen interdisciplinary creative methodologies.
An important part of MML is the two-year process in which an interdisciplinary team of artists investigates the relationship between new technologies, movement and the body. During the festival we will present guided tours of the four projects in which the makers have worked together in groups. The audience will be led in small groups through the different installations. Each tour will be followed by a guided feedback session, where the makers and the audience will discuss their studies and experiences with the works.
The MML makers who will be presented are Bregje Benecke, Steven Elbers, Abel Enklaar, Léa Cadieux, Mariah Blue, Rens Hoofs, Ildikó Horváth, Rawan Khater, Olympia Kotopoulos, Ennya Larmit, Cerian Mason, Soyun Park, Albert Rask, Maria Sartzetaki and Josse Vessies.
