Ever since René crossed paths with electronica he has been dreaming of creating a meaningful crossover between the versatile cello and the enigmatic world of electronic music.
‘Forget’ is the first collection of tracks showcasing René’s exploration into his dreamt-up computer-sequenced cello sound. The EP growls, screeches and sings like an acoustic instrument while the electronics launch you in a gigantic cello into outer space, flying through cosmic clouds of rosin, resonating with strings from other planets along the way.
During the presentation, René will explain his creation process and there will be a listening session of the full EP. Afterwards, he will perform a short live-set with cello and electronics.
The Forget EP will be released on Geryon (New York), February 1st 2024.
The artwork is made by Marcel Dirkes, who will be exhibiting a selection of his work in the Playground.
