In this edition, journalist Olga Verheijden interviewed A Lab member Ahmet Polat. Through his photography and fieldwork, Ahmet Polat aims to build bridges between different cultures, identities, and histories. After living and working in Istanbul for ten years, he returned to the Netherlands in 2015 and was awarded the title of Photographer of the Nation in the same year. His work is exhibited internationally, including at the Rijksmuseum, Istanbul Modern, Stedelijk Amsterdam, and BOZAR Brussels. With the Studio Polat Foundation, Ahmet aims to foster, instigate, and support collaborations and mutual benefits between different disciplines and creative worlds.
